These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern your use of the VAT Check EU mobile application (the “App”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
The service
VAT Check EU lets you validate European Union VAT numbers against the European Commission’s VIES service and view the results. The App is a tool for looking up publicly available VAT registration data; it is not legal, tax, or accounting advice.
Accuracy of results
Validation results, including company names and addresses, are supplied by EU member states through the VIES service. We do not generate, control, or guarantee this data and are not responsible for its accuracy, completeness, or availability. VIES may be temporarily unavailable or return incomplete results for reasons outside our control. You are responsible for how you use the results.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the App or our API for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or reverse engineer the App, our API, or the underlying VIES service.
- Use automated means to submit excessive or abusive volumes of requests, or resell the service without our written permission.
Subscriptions and payments
- The App offers a limited number of free lookups and a paid subscription that unlocks unlimited lookups. The applicable price and free allowance are shown in the App.
- Subscriptions are sold and billed through your Apple App Store account. Payment is charged at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings.
- Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. Refund requests are handled by Apple under its standard policies.
Intellectual property
The App, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by us and protected by applicable laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or other intellectual property except the limited right to use the App as intended.
Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that results will meet your requirements.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your reliance on validation results or your inability to use the App.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
